Tony Walmsley has selected his provisional squad for the Central Coast Mariners’ round 4 Halloween fixture against Sydney FC to be played this Saturday at Central Coast Stadium.
With almost an injury free squad at his disposal leading into this Saturday’s blockbuster against Sydney FC, Walmsley joked about a fear towards his own health when it comes to watching his team play.
“I’m enjoying the ride, we’re playing entertaining football, I’m entertained, I’m not sure if it’s good for my health but it’s certainly good for my mind,” Walmsley said.
“What the players need to realise is there’s competitions for their spots. If you’re Roy O’Donovan, Dan Heffernan is waiting in the wings, if you’re Fabio Ferreira we’ve got Fitzy who can play out there, Anthony Kalik is putting himself in the frame and everyone’s place is up for grabs every week.
“What will be interesting against Sydney FC is how many chances we create and how many we convert because I know against their backline we’ve got some weapons that can hurt them with movement.”
