THE 2012/13 National Youth League (NYL) decider between Central Coast Mariners and Melbourne Victory will now be played at Bluetongue Stadium (weather permitting) prior to Saturday-s round 22 Hyundai A-League contest between the same two clubs.
Central Coast Mariners FC, in conjunction with Gosford City Council, Football Federation Australia (FFA), Bluetongue Stadium, and Melbourne Victory FC, reached an agreement on Tuesday afternoon to play the round 18 NYL match ahead of Saturday-s highly anticipated Hyundai A-League fixture.
The game is scheduled to kick-off at 4:45pm with gates on either side of the ground opening at 4:30pm.
Last weekend, Central Coast Mariners Youth-s 4-0 win over Sydney FC Youth combined with Western Sydney Wanderers Youth-s 4-3 defeat of Melbourne Victory Youth ensured the 2012/13 NYL Champion would be decided in the final fixture of the season.
While not strictly a Grand Final, the round 18 contest will ultimately decide which Club will win the 2012/13 NYL crown. Central Coast Mariners Youth must win the encounter to claim back-to-back NYL titles, while Melbourne Victory Youth can afford to draw with the junior Mariners at Gosford-s idyllic bayside arena by virtue of their superior goal difference.
Supporters are urged to venture to Bluetongue Stadium early for the match which will feature some of Australian football-s brightest prospects.
The two teams have identical records this NYL campaign, having both won 12 of 17 matches. Neither side has drawn a game this season.
