Central Coast Mariners defender Storm Roux says he can’t wait to feature for the Foxtel A-League All Stars against Juventus at ANZ Stadium tonight, but he insists his side will need to be on their toes against the Serie A Champions.

“I’m obviously very excited to be playing against such a great team and against some players that are world-class. It’s going to be crazy, it’s probably the first time I have played against players this good,” said Roux.

“We know it’s going to be tough, we’ve watched their last game where I think they beat an Indonesian Select XI 8-1, so it’s going to be tough. We have to be on our game if we want to make it a battle.”

“It’s going to be one of these games where one mistake will cost us. Everyone will have to be on their game for the full 90 minutes otherwise they will punish us.”

The New Zealand international admits he is still pinching himself over what he has achieved over the last 12 months.

“It’s been really crazy. Last year I was watching the All Stars game while I was without a club and this year I am playing in it, which is pretty unbelievable. It’s been a really big year for me,” Roux explained.

“I’m happy to be given the chance at the Mariners and I think I’ve done well, but I just want to keep moving forward and keep building on what I’ve done.”

Roux says he’s thoroughly enjoyed his time in All Stars camp over the last 10 days and is thankful for the opportunity to take on some of the world’s best players this evening.

“It’s been great. Training has been really good quality and being with the league’s best players and working under a new coach has been pretty exciting. It’s going to be a great game against Juventus,” he said.

“I’m going into this match just looking to enjoy myself. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be involved and playing against world-class players. I’m just going to go out to take as much as I can from the experience.”
