Mariners’ Youth bound for Bluetongue

The Central Coast Mariners’ National Youth League (NYL) fixture against the Melbourne Victory on Saturday, 11 October at 3pm, originally set for Lisarow’s Pluim Park, will now be played at the Mariners’ regular Bluetongue Stadium home at the originally set date and time.

TThe Central Coast Mariners- National Youth League (NYL) fixture against the Melbourne Victory on Saturday, 11 October at 3pm, originally set for Lisarow-s Pluim Park, will now be played at the Mariners- regular Bluetongue Stadium home at the originally set date and time.

With Pluim Park enduring heavy traffic over the course of the past few months by virtue of the high volume of local football matches played at the venue, the Mariners, in conjunction with Central Coast Football, have decided it best to allow the Pluim Park surface additional time to recover from its heavy usage so to best prepare for future NYL fixtures in late 2008 and early 2009.

Consequently, the Mariners- NYL representation will now take on the Victory-s equivalent at Bluetongue Stadium on Saturday, 11 October at 3pm, before making three appearances at Pluim Park throughout the summer months.

“After careful examination of the playing surface at Pluim Park, we-ve made the decision to switch Saturday week-s match to Bluetongue Stadium in order to give Pluim Park the best possible chance to recover from its very heavy schedule of late,” said Mariners Executive Chairman Lyall Gorman.

“We-re assured that by December, when our NYL team are next set to appear at Pluim Park, that the playing surface will have had the adequate time required to recover from its busiest time of the local season and will be more than adequate to host the currently scheduled fixtures.

“We remain very appreciate of Central Coast Football for their support in making Pluim Park available as an NYL venue and also to Bluetongue Stadium for their ongoing support and particularly in this instance.”

The Mariners- National Youth League campaign continues away to Adelaide United on Friday, 3 October as a curtain raiser to the Mariners- Hyundai A-League clash later that evening. Kick off is at 5.15pm AEST ahead of the main game kick off at 8pm AEST.

The Mariners- National Youth League team is next on the Central Coast on Saturday, 11 October when they take on the Melbourne Victory at Bluetongue Stadium. Kick off is at 3pm. Entry is free, though the only access to Bluetongue Stadium will be at the western gates from 2.30pm.
