Josh Rose & Jake Adelson visit NSR Kanga Cup

It’s been a whirlwind couple of days for Josh Rose & Jake Adelson who have been in Canberra watching a host of Kanga Cup matches, some even involving Josh’s son, Jai.

In preparation for the two Hyundai A-League fixtures that the Mariners will host in Canberra, a raft of players are utilising pre-season to get out and about in the Canberra community.

This week the football family has migrated to that nation’s capital for what is the largest International Youth Football Tournament in the Southern Hemisphere.

Held annually in Canberra, the weeklong event promotes the mission of uniting the Youth of the World through Football. The Kanga Cup is ran by Capital Football, an organisation that the Mariners hold a longstanding relationship with.

Josh & Jake were lucky enough to catch some games in Canberra and meet kids who spanned from over 120 clubs and 380 teams in the nation’s capital.

Arriving in Canberra on Thursday afternoon is Central Coast Mariners player and Kiwi-International Storm Roux who will also be heading to some Kanga Cup matches during his time in the ACT.

Speaking with the Canberra Times, Josh Rose spoke about his excitement of playing at GIO Stadium this season.

"It's fantastic," Rose said. "To have a couple of games here it's something we look forward to and hopefully we can get a good crowd and hopefully a few wins.

"It's a fantastic stadium, so we look forward to playing there. The pitch will be fantastic and to get away from home is always good."
