BUSINESSMAN John Singleton and Central Coast Business Review have commenced a campaign to allow the silent majority a voice in deciding the future of Gosford.

In today-s Central Coast Express Advocate, a double page advert sets out what Gosford looks like today and what it could be like in the future.

With youth unemployment in Gosford now running at 33 per cent and the Central Coast economy in decline over the past five years, it is time to act.

You can lend your support to the campaign by visiting www.supportgosford.com.au

There, you can sign the online petition to apply further pressure on the Premier of NSW, The Hon Barry O-Farrell, to step in and approve the development of Gosford Waterfront.

Following a campaign of misinformation on the redevelopment of Gosford Waterfront it now appears that The Landing at Gosford Project may not proceed and, if it does, it may take up to two years before the Government gives the necessary approvals. In other words, the redevelopment is unlikely to happen.

For the Gosford CBD, with its old, dilapidated and vacant offices and buildings to return to the prosperous town it once was, the first step in the revitalisation process has to start at the Waterfront which right now provides no public amenity at all for the people who live anywhere around Gosford.

Supporters of the “Support Gosford Challenge” view Gosford as the Capital of the Central Coast with modern, state-of-the-art office buildings and residential living along with waterfront restaurants and entertainment, a new Performing Arts Centre and a five- star Hotel that will bring visitors to the region and make it a prosperous and beautiful city for all to enjoy.

The campaign is supported by Bluetongue Stadium, Central Coast Mariners, Central Coast Bears, 2GO, SeaFM, Gosford City Council, Gosford Chamber of Commerce, and Gosford GBid.
