THE man wearing the number 2 kit for the Central Coast Mariners this season will be well-travelled marksman Daniel McBreen.

‘Macca- as he is known to his teammates has so far played 61 games for Central Coast in all competitions, netting nine goals.

McBreen began his football journey with Newcastle United in the National Soccer League before venturing overseas to fulfil his childhood ambition of playing professionally abroad.

His first stop overseas was with Romania-s Universitatea Craiova, before he linked with Falkirk in Scotland.

Spells with Scunthorpe United, York City and St. Johnstone in the UK followed, before McBreen was lured to Townsville to join North Queensland Fury.

McBreen played a handful of games for Perth Glory in 2010, and joined the yellow and navy later that year.

He has since become a key member of the Mariners- leadership group, adding character and quality to the Club.

The 35-year-old signed a one-season extension with Central Coast earlier this year.
