WITH just 19 days to go, we continue our countdown towards our first Hyundai A-League game of the 2012/13 season – a much-anticipated clash with Western Sydney Wanderers at Parramatta Stadium. What relevance does the number 19 have for Mariners fans this campaign?

ADAM Kwasnik is a fan favourite among the Mariners faithful, and despite being frustrated with injury at times last campaign “Kwas” proved his capacity to bulge the back of the net again last term.

Indeed, the former Chengdu Blades frontman produced 19 shots on goal in the 2011/12 Hyundai A-League season. From these 19 efforts on target, he produced six goals.

Kwasnik made 19 appearances for the yellow and navy throughout the domestic season – eight starts and 11 appearances from the bench.
His strike rate of a goal every three shots on target highlight his capacity to contribute consistently to the Mariners- cause.

Perhaps Kwasnik-s best goal of the 2011/12 Hyundai A-League season was against Melbourne Heart at AAMI Park in round 17. With New Zealand international Michael McGlinchey floating in a neat cross from the right, Kwasnik pounced to clinically fire a goal from an acute angle.

Here at ccmariners.com.au, we-re convinced Adam Kwasnik will produce many more moments of magic for fans to savour in season 8 of Australia-s top flight!
