Bozanic seeing Coast connection returning

Bozanic seeing Coast connection returning

Mariners skipper Oliver Bozanic said he is beginning to see the Mariners and the community reconnect, and hopes to see it turn into big crowds with two massive home matches on the horizon.

The Mariners will face Melbourne City on Monday before returning home for two matches, against Melbourne Victory on Saturday 27th March and then top six contenders Adelaide United on Thursday, 1st April.

Bozanic said the team feeds off the growing crowds at Central Coast Stadium and is hoping to see the Coast community out in force when the boys are back at home on Saturday.

“We love it,” he said.

“Every week the crowd keeps getting bigger and bigger, and that’s the way we want to keep it.”

“We need to keep growing it, we need the support of people in the community. We’re a community club, we have local players here, we need all of you so we’re looking forward to another home game.”

Bozanic said that he is feeling the connection coming back, and has enjoyed the support of Mariners fans so far this campaign.

“You see it within the people in the community, you see it with the Mariners hats, the shirts around the Coast now,” he said.

“People coming up to the players every week, congratulating us, really giving us energy for the next games, and we hope that continues and more people attend the games.”

First up for the Mariners though before they return home is Melbourne City, and Bozanic said the team can’t wait to take on one of the competition’s form teams tomorrow night.

“They’re in great form at the moment, it’s going to be a really exciting game,” he said.

“We’re looking forward to it, it’s a huge challenge for us and that’s the way we see it.”
