ALL Central Coast Academy Teams – Boys and Girls – have a weekend of home games at Pluim Park this weekend.

Games kick off with a 9am start on Saturday for the Grade 13 Boys who will be playing the Western NSW Mariners.

The Grade 14 Boys will be hoping to capitalise on their ten goals scored last weekend and their total of 48 goals for the season with another convincing performance on Saturday.

The Grade 15 Boys game will be a tough match with the Mariners Academy Boys sitting in first place on the table just one win in front of the Western NSW Boys.

In the Grade 16 Boys, the table topping Academy team will be hoping for another win over the Western NSW Mariners who sit at the bottom of the table.

Meanwhile the Grade 18 Boys will be out to win the three points after their last encounter with Western NSW saw the points go to them. The Grade 18 Boys also played a make-up game during the week and came away with a 4-0 win over Bankstown City Lions.

On Saturday, the Academy will also host a number of games for the younger teams including the Grade 9 and 10 Boys against Manly in the morning and later in afternoon against Western NSW. The Grade 11 and 12 Boys will also face Western NSW Mariners with 11am and 12 noon kick offs.

Sunday sees Manly again at Pluim but this time it is the girls and women-s teams. The Grade 12 Girls kick off at 9am followed by the Grade 14 Girls at 10am.

The Grade 16 Girls game will see the Academy (currently in second position on the ladder) meet with Manly who sit one spot behind them on the ladder although the Coast girls are comfortably 10 points clear of Manly. The two teams will again meet on Tuesday night, but this time at Manly-s home turf at Cromer Park. Coach John Blanco-s Grade 16 Girls will be hoping for positive results in both these games to move them in to the lead for Season 2012 with only two further games to play after Tuesday-s match.

The Academy Reserve Grade Women-s team are coming off a win last week against Marconi. Another win this week could see them jump ahead of Macarthur, Sydney University and draw level on points with Illawarra Stingrays depending upon the results of the other games.

The Women-s First Grade Mariners Academy Team sit just two places behind Manly FC on the table and will be hoping for a win to move them equal with 7th placed Marconi Stallions. The Women-s team are backing up from a mid-week game against the New South Wales Institute of Sport Women-s team. With Coach Steve Roche-s tenure at the Academy drawing to a close with his recent appointment as Head Coach of the Western Sydney Wanderers W-League team all players will be keen to impress their outgoing coach.

Sunday also sees the Grade 13 to Grade 18 Boys head to Crest Reserve at Georges Hall to play their previously washed-out encounter with Bankstown Berries. Once these games are played, all Academy Boys teams will be up to date with all washouts from a very wet mid-season.

With the count down to the end of the season close, all Academy players and teams are hoping to end their season on a positive note with many teams vying for places in the finals through this weekend and the coming weeks.
