THREE Central Coast Mariners Academy Boys teams have progressed through to the Grand Finals of the Football New South Wales Boys Super Youth League to be played next weekend.

With the Grade 16 Boys already assured of a spot in the Grand Final, the Grade 14 and 15 Boys were in action on Saturday at Garside Park playing for their chance to compete in their season 2012 Grand Final.

The Grade 14 Boys faced Granville Rage who were seen to have a home ground advantage with the Finals being played at Granville. However, the Mariners Academy Boys showed that there was no home advantage with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Granville. The Academy team will now play again next weekend play Sydney University in the decider.

Will Piriz-s Grade 15 Boys played Western NSW Mariners 15s in a tight tussle for the right to play in next week-s Grand Final. Nathan Hundley of the Academy scored the only goal of the match just before full time. After taking out the Minor Premiership, the 15s will be hoping to make it a double next weekend. Like the 14s, Piriz’s side will play Sydney University in their most important match of the season.

Sydney University will also be the opposition for the Grade 16 Boys next Saturday after Uni beat Spirit FC in extra time in Saturday-s Preliminary Final.

The other Mariners Academy team in action on the weekend was the Grade 16 Girls who played Manly FC at Lynwood Park. Scores were locked at 0-0 at full time but a result was needed to see who was to progress through to the Grand Final against Illawarra in the Girls Premier League. The game was forced to extra time, and unfortunately the Grade 16 Girls were unable to prevent two goals being scored by Manly.

The Boys Super Youth League Grand Finals will be held at the Sydney United Sports Centre on Saturday 15 September with kick off times expected to be 10:15 am for the Grade 14 Boys, 11:45am for the Grade 15 Boys and 1:00pm for the Grade 16 Boys.

Good luck to the Mariners Academy teams in their Grand Finals!
