Biography
The Mariners secured the services of talented attacker Tommy Oar in September 2018, joining from Cyprus club APOEL FC. Originally from the Gold Coast, Oar announced on the scene at an early age with Brisbane Roar. Eventually signing for FC Utrecht in 2010 he joined Ipswich Town in 2015 then re-joined the Roar in 2016. Oar has appeared 28 times for the Socceroos, which includes involvement in the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2015 AFC Asian Cup where Australia were crowned Champions of Asia.
Oar’s experience in Europe includes a UEFA Europa League appearance for Utrecht against Liverpool at Anfield and a UEFA Champions League appearance for APOEL against SK Slavia Prague.
