#UniteForTheCoast – Cameron Stone

Central Coast Mariners Direct Sales Executive Cameron Stone is living proof that people come from far and wide to #UniteForTheCoast.

Cameron, originally from Parkes, is now employed in the Mariners’ Commercial Department, but began his association with the yellow and navy as a supporter of the Club some 400 kilometres away in the New South Wales central west.

“Originally we [Cameron’s family] used to come to the Central Coast for family holidays, so I probably started coming to the area when I was five or six,” he said. “We used to come up here every year.”

“Then when a Hyundai A-League Club was formed on the Coast my Dad started to follow it, and we all followed him and started to support the Mariners.”

After volunteering for the Club a number of times, and regularly making the 800 kilometre round journey to watch the team live in Gosford, Cameron applied for a role with the Mariners earlier this year.

Having demonstrated enormous passion and understanding for the Club and region, he was given the opportunity to join the Mariners’ administration team.

Cameron has now shifted his own family, including his wife Tiff and young son, Huxley, to the region.

And it’s a case of like father, like son for Huxley, who is already starting to #UniteForTheCoast.

“Huxley is already a Mariners supporter,” Cameron said. “He attended his second game against Perth and with the beats of the Brass Band and all the noise going on he was dancing the whole time and clapping his hands.”

Cameron said he definitely calls the Coast home now, and is more likely to venture west as part of the Club’s efforts to connect with Western NSW Football players and supporters.

He explained that for him and his family, the Coast offers fantastic opportunities to enjoy life.

“Obviously being from the bush I like to go to the beach because there are no beaches in the bush,” he said. “We find that there’s just a lot more opportunities to do things as a family on the Coast, so we’re loving living here.”
