TEAM NEWS: Hyundai A-League Round Two

After the Central Coast Mariners epic round one comeback, Paul Okon has named his squad heading into Hyundai A-League round two who are set to face Sydney FC at Allianz Stadium.

There are selection headaches looming for Paolo ahead of his second match at the helm of the Mariners with all attacking weapons in Roy O’Donovan, Connor Pain, Trent Buhagiar, Blake Powell and Kwabena Appiah impressing against Perth Glory.

Also working hard to make a return to full fitness from a hamstring complaint is Fabio Ferreira who has been named and will challenge his teammates for a starting berth against Sydney.

After impressing on the training track this week, Brad McDonald is up for selection who can be called upon as a versatile wide defender or midfielder within Paolo’s style of play.

All six off-season recruits remain in Paolo’s provisional squad and look to be settling in well on the Central Coast, especially Connor Pain who earned man of the match honours at nib Stadium on Saturday night.

Storm Roux also made his long awaited return to Hyundai A-League football on Saturday night and has recovered well to remain in contention to face Graham Arnold’s Sydney FC.
