Super Saturday at Central Coast Stadium

The Western Sydney Wanderers are coming to town this Saturday but that’s not the only reason to get excited thanks to the International Football School, our match day sponsor.

It’s always an occasion when we host the Western Sydney Wanderers at Central Coast Stadium and our Head Coach, Paul Okon is calling on your support that has made the difference in our last two games against the Newcastle Jets & Perth Glory.

“In my pre-game talk I speak to the players about needing to give the Members a team that’s going to play dynamic football, a team that’s going to excite the Members and a team that works incredibly hard. I think we’ve managed to do that,” Okon said.

“There’s a message there and that’s to come out and support us. If you do, we will continue to get better and better with your support. Your support will make these players take their game to another level.

“We are here to win football games, we are here to make the top six and that can only be possible if we can continue to get that type of support at our home games and so far the support has been amazing,” Okon said.

Saturday’s match day is sponsored by the International Football School where Central Coast Mariners exciting attacker Trent Buhagiar was able to work towards both his football and academic goals.

IFS is located at Mt Penang and offers a unique academic environment where the responsibility for learning is handed back to the student, where teachers act as mentors and guides rather than directors. The vision in creating IFS was to restore balance to the lives of sporting families. By incorporating top level coaching into the school day, parents are freed of the after-school training run-around, allowing more time for the family.

At half time of the Central Coast Mariners match students from the International Football School will be taking part in a skill circuit.

As always, the Official Pre-Game Function will be where all of the action kicks off at 2pm at the Gosford Bowling Club thanks to the Six String Brewery and Central Coast Leagues Club (entry via the Eastern Side of the Stadium).

At the Pre-Game Function you will be able to try the Coast’s best craft beer thanks to Six String Brewery whilst hearing from Club CEO Shaun Mielekamp. Pre-Game Function will also be your best option for a pre-game meal with a BBQ in operation that has a menu starting from $3 which includes steak and sausage sandwiches.

The Central Coast Mariners players have pledged to stand up, speak out and act to prevent men’s violence against women. On Saturday we’re supporting White Ribbon Australia’s only national, male led campaign to end men’s violence against women.

We will help raise awareness throughout the match through a range of iniatives that includes White Ribbon pin sales in Dane Drive, a guard of honour during the walk out with police holding signs that display the pledge against domestic violence along with a group of children who will form a white ribbon formation on the pitch.
