The Central Coast Mariners are staring down the barrel of two games in four days against Melbourne Victory & Melbourne City and Okon’s squad is in for our round 12 clash at AAMI Park.
It’s been a welcomed 10-day break for the Mariners after their 2-1 hit out with Brisbane Roar, a period that Okon has used to put more work into his side to prepare them for a short turnaround against the two Melbourne teams.
The first fixture is a battle against Kevin Muscat’s Melbourne Victory and there has been no respite from training for the Mariners who were back to the training track on Boxing Day at the Centre of Excellence.
Mickael Tavares has returned to the Central Coast and is back to training but unfortunately won’t be in contention for selection to travel to Melbourne – thankfully Nick Montgomery, Liam Rose & Adam Berry are all fit.
Storm Roux will remain sidelined with a minor injury to his ankle with an aim to feature at home on New Year’s Eve against Melbourne City at Central Coast Stadium.
Last week, after playing almost 90 minutes for the Mariners’ youth team, Jacques Faty is looking likely to feature against Melbourne Victory on Wednesday evening adding some welcomed experience to the back four.
The Mariners attacking stocks remain unchanged with spots being hotly contested in the Yellow & Navy front third.
