Some much needed experience will be welcomed back into the Central Coast Mariners squad ahead of Sunday’s clash with Brisbane Roar at Central Coast Stadium.
Mariners’ captain Nick Montgomery and central defender Jacques Faty have been named to return to the field for the clash, which will take the opportunity to pay tribute to the tireless efforts of Surf Life Saving Central Coast in keeping our beaches safe each summer.
‘Monty’ returns to the lineup after missing the Mariners’ last two Hyundai A-League clashes with a hamstring injury, while Faty is named in the 18-man squad after missing the last month with a knee problem. The return of the duo is a welcome morale boost for the Yellow and Navy, with head coach Paul Okon able to call on a greater depth of experience following back-to-back losses in the last fortnight.
Foxtel National Youth League player Ryan Peterson retains his spot in Okon’s squad, for the game along with the bulk of the lineup which will be looking to make amends for their last-start loss to Wellington last weekend. In the injury ward, Mickael Tavares continues his treatment abroad for his ankle injury and is due to return after Christmas.
Sunday’s game day is also an opportunity for fans to join the fun – after the Round 11Â clash with an in-form Brisbane Roar, fans are welcome onto Central Coast Stadium post-game!
