Tonight the Central Coast Mariners host Hakoah Sydney City East at Pluim Park, Lisarow. Kick-off is 7pm and entry is just a gold coin donation.

After last Friday’s 0-0 draw with Josep Gomabu’s Australian under 23’s squad, the Central Coast Mariners are back on the pitch tonight against Playstation 4 NPL 1 outfit Hakoah Sydney City East for their second open pre-season match of Paul Okon’s 2017/18 campaign.

This match will serve as an important game for Okon’s men as they continue pre-season preparations ahead of their Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32 clash against Blacktown City on August 2 at Lily’s Football Centre.

Hakoah Sydney City were a foundation member of the now defunct National Soccer League (NSL) and were also its most dominant side in the competition’s first decade, winning four titles, including three in a row from 1980–1982, and finishing below third only once.

A club who are rich in history recently added to their trophy caninet after defeating APIA Leichhardt Tigers 3-1 in the Waratah Cup Final last weekend, winning one of the most prestigious cup tournaments in the Nation. The final four teams remaining in the Waratah Cup gain automatic qualification to this year’s Westfield FFA Cup, and for the visitors, they will play against NSW NPL 2 outfit Hills Brumbies in their Cup Tie on Wednesday July 26.

The Mariners will be looking to maintain their perfect defensive record having played 180 minutes so far this pre-season without conceding a goal. Whilst the defence has been on song, the attack has also been potent, scoring six past the Central Coast All Stars and creating a number of promising opportunities against the Olyroos.

For the fans, this is a great chance to see Paul Okon’s new look Mariners in their second public pre-season game, with a strong chance that Daniel De Silva could feature for the first time on the Central Coast.

Entry to the fixture is a gold coin, which will be going towards the club’s initiative to buy a new rescue board for Surf Life Saving Central Coast.

In typical Pluim Park fashion it is set to be another chilly night, so make sure you bring your jumpers (or two) and we will see you there!
