Okon’s round two squad bolstered by two key players

Ahead of the Central Coast Mariners Hyundai A-League Round 2 clash against the Western Sydney Wanderers, Paul Okon has named a provisional 18-man-squad. Kick-off on Saturday is 5:35pm at Spotless Stadium.

In great news for Mariners fans, Storm Roux and Andrew Hoole are both eligible for selection this week after missing the opening round against Newcastle.

Roux missed the Mariners opener due to tightness in his back and Andrew Hoole had an accumulation of yellow cards which carried over from last season.

The inclusions give Okon selection headaches, specifically on the right-side where Hoole & Roux partnered at right-back and right-wing for majority of the pre-season.

Josh Rose will be hoping to retain his spot in the starting line up as he is in contention to make his 200th Hyundai A-League starting appearance. If he achieves that proud milestone, Rose will become just the ninth outfield player in the history of the league to reach 200 starts. Incredibly, Rose has a grand total of 201 appearances in the Hyundai A-League from his time at the New Zealand Knights, Mariners and Melbourne City coming off the bench just twice.
