Central Coast Mariners Head Coach Phil Moss has promoted two Central Coast Mariners’ rising stars to his Hyundai A-League 2015/16 roster and secured the services of Josh Bingham and Jake McGing.

Bingham and McGing are two of the club’s stand out Foxtel National Youth League talents that will serve as crucial members of the squad in another move that reaffirms the club’s stance on youth development.

Bingham has already experienced a small taste of the Hyundai A-League having featured off the bench twice in away fixtures against Newcastle Jets and Wellington Phoenix.

The young striker who hails from Wollongong has taken on a captaincy role in the Mariners’ Foxtel National Youth League squad and is over the moon to have picked up his first professional contract.

“I am extremely happy and very proud to be signing for the Mariners. I’m glad I have been given this opportunity by Phil. I’m looking forward to working with him and all of the other first teamers,” Bingham said.

McGing plies his trade in the middle of the park and has been one of the top performers in the mini Mariners squad under Stu Jacobs (Head of Youth).

During pre-season, McGing travelled with the first team to Lismore for their fixture against Melbourne City and paid full credit to the senior players for taking him under their wing.

“All of the boys have been great to me. The older players, Hutch and Monty, have been looking after me well. The experience in Lismore definitely helped throughout this season,” McGing said.

A further step forward in continuing the development of Australia’s best young talent, Phil Moss is thrilled with the progress of his two newest recruits.

“The elevation of Josh & Jake from our NYL program to the HAL squad for next season is a clear indication our youth structure is headed in the right direction

“Josh & Jake have performed at a consistently high level for the National Youth League team & Stu Jacobs & Rui Tome (National Youth League Assistant Coach) have done a fabulous job with them & the entire squad.

“On the same day we announced our new partnership with English Premier League club Everton FC, the progress of two of our NYL players into the first team squad further emphasises our commitment to youth development at the Mariners,” Moss said.
