Four former Central Coast Mariners stars featured for Australia in their second FIFA World Cup blockbuster against the Netherlands in Brazil on Thursday morning.

Mathew Ryan, Alex Wilkinson and Mile Jedinak started the clash for Ange Postecoglou-s men, Oliver Bozanic made his World Cup debut for the Socceroos when he replaced Mark Bresciano in the 51st minute.

His substitution had immediate effects with the FC Luzern man winning a penalty for a handball, before Jedinak stepped up and coolly converted to give Australia the lead.

Despite suffering a 3-2 loss to the Dutch, the Socceroos won over many admirers with a stunning display of courage and style, and our greatest goal in Australian World Cup history from Tim Cahill will never be forgotten.
