Michael McGlinchey & Daniel McBreen recognised for stunning Hyundai A-League campaigns.

THE inaugural Central Coast Men Of Football Damien Brown Medal was awarded to Michael McGlinchey in the Kendall Bar of the Central Coast Leagues Club on Saturday night following the Mariners- 2-1 win over Melbourne Heart.

Over 300 hundred Men Of Football members had voted weekly during the 2012/13 Hyundai A-League season for their choice as Mariners- ‘Player of the Match-.

McGlinchey finished ahead of second-placed Daniel McBreen, with Trent Sainsbury a close third.

Central Coast football legend and the Club-s current Youth Development Officer, Damien Brown, presented the Medal to McGlinchey before a boisterous crowd.

The Damien Brown Medal was named following a vote by all Central Coast Men Of Football members, who were asked to nominate a suitable Central Coast football identity who deserved recognition for services to the local game.

Meanwhile, Central Coast Mariners striker McBreen this afternoon claimed the 2012/13 Hyundai A-League Nike Golden Boot prize.

Having netted a stunning 17 goals this season, McBreen finished one goal ahead of his good friend Jeremy Brockie of the Wellington Phoenix.

McBreen thanked his fans on Twitter following full-time in Wellington-s defeat to Melbourne Victory in New Zealand on Sunday.

“Great season @JRBrockie (Jeremy Brockie). Never had more butterflies for a game in a long time mate. Some achievement – more than ½ team goals #welldone,” he tweeted.

“Can-t believe all the love that-s coming in. Massive thanks to everybody. Can-t thank my team mates and coaching staff enough. More to come!!”
