The Central Coast Mariners Foxtel National Youth team have succumbed to a 3-0 loss to the Newcastle Jets as a result of goals to Mitch Cooper, Brandon Lundy and Josh Barresi on Sunday at Magic Park, Broadmeadow.
The Mini Mariners had several chances to find themselves on the scoresheet with the closest falling to Trent Buhagiar whos shot in the opening stages of the second half crashed into the crossbar.Â
Mitch Cooper opened the scoring for the Jets in the third minute of play and the home side’s win was cemented by Barresi’s penalty in the 71st minute.Â
In the 60th minute, Lachlan Wales was the next Mariner to create a chance but his shot was handled with class by the Jets shot stopper.Â
The Central Coast Mariners Foxtel National Youth League team have a bye this weekend and will play the Western Sydney Wanderers on Sunday December 13 at Tuggerah. Kick-off is 3:00pm and entry is FREE.Â
