CENTRAL Coast Mariners held their 2012 Fan Forum at Mingara Recreation Club, Tumbi Umbi last night.

Approximately 150 fans from a diverse cross-section of the franchises fan catchment converged to discuss an array of Mariners matters, including progress on the Central Coast Mariners Centre of Excellence, current Club initiatives, and team goals for the 2012/13 campaign.

Central Coast Mariners Executive Chairman, Mr Peter Turnbull, headed a panel that included fellow board Member, Mr Bob Graham, Mariners Head Coach Graham Arnold, and star players John Hutchinson and Patrick Zwaanswijk. Likeable Mariners General Manager – Football, Lawrie McKinna, was Master of Ceremonies.

The one-and-a-half hour conference was followed by supporters on Twitter, with the #MarinersFanForum hashtag generating just shy of 100,000 impressions through the Forum. Club tweets reached just under 10,000 individual accounts.

David Zdrilic of The World Game show on SBS attended alongside trusty cameraman Alberto, with Zdrilic only hours earlier having flown in from New York. The Hyundai A-League pundit was suitably impressed by the event and a feature from the night will air on next week-s TWG.

Zdrilic said on Twitter: “Great turnout at the #MarinersFanForum. Perfect example of fan engagement. Plenty of questions and debate. Well done CCM.”

Meanwhile, supporter Erin Morrow (@Erin_Mariner) wrote: “Lots to feel good about at the #MarinersFanForum. Great info about what-s going on. Great opportunity to hear questions answered. Well done.”

And on Facebook, fan Bradley Prisk typed: “Was a good night, interesting to gain an insight into the running of the club and Arnie-s opinion of the upcoming season. Would encourage other fans to attend in the future.”

Moreover, McKinna invited fans interested on joining a unique fan delegation which will collaborate once a month to discuss engagement concepts and other matters to get in touch with the Mariners. To express your interest in joining this group please e-mail info@ccmariners.com.au
