CENTRAL Coast Mariners National Youth League (NYL) team will recommence their 2011/12 season on Friday afternoon at Pluim Park, Lisarow.

Taking on defending NYL Premiers Gold Coast United, Mariners coach Tony Walmsley is set to field a side flush with Hyundai A-League talent.

Indeed, experienced striker Adam Kwasnik, two-time Hyundai A-League Championship winning midfielder Stuart Musialik, and skilful number 10 Adriano Pellegrino are all set to feature.

In addition, Hyundai A-League squad members Brad McDonald and Sam Gallagher will look to use the game to press their growing claims for a berth in Graham Arnold-s senior Mariners side.

The nous added to the team by the Hyundai A-League squad members will complement the youthful exuberance on display from Walmsley-s regular batch of precocious talents.

The likes of Mitchell Duke, Anthony Caceres, Jimmy Oates and Kwabena Appiah-Kubi – to name a handful – have each been earning rave reviews from astute judges of the game recently, and will undoubtedly be keen to fire in their first fixture of 2012.

After starting the term in dominant fashion, Central Coast Mariners NYL side lost their final two games heading into the mid-season break to slip to sixth place in the competition standings.

Nevertheless, the match represents the perfect opportunity for the junior Yellow and Navy stars to catapult themselves up the congested table.

Currently just six points separates second from eighth in this edition of the NYL, and a win could take Mariners Youth as high as fourth position depending on other results around the country.

Kick-off is 4pm with gates opening 15 minutes prior.
