Clubs within the Central Coast Mariners- catchment have benefitted from Hyundai-s important ‘Goals for Grassroots- program this season.

In round 2 of the competition, Patrick Zwaanswijk-s late header against Gold Coast United netted the Mariners a point against Miron Bleiberg-s team, and also secured Mount Colah Football Club an extra $1000 to go with their guaranteed $1000 for their participation in the program.

And on January 4 this year, departing hero Matt Simon helped land Berkeley Vale Soccer Club a bonus $2000 to prop up their $1000 cheque presented at the match. Simon-s two-goal effort was enough for the Mariners to see off the challenge of Melbourne Victory 2-0.

‘Goals for Grassroots- has been a feature of Hyundai A-League football since 2007, and is designed to help promote the game of football within local communities.

Each week, one match is designated as the ‘Goals for Grassroots- game. In this match, the home team will play to win a donation of $1000 minimum, and an additional $1000 for each goal they score in the match for their local grassroots team (up to a max of $5000 per game).

Clubs can register to become a ‘Goals for Grassroots- team in support of their local Hyundai A-league side – and earn the chance to collect extra funds for their club – by clicking here. To enter, clubs must describe why they believe they should receive the donation, and can add photos or a short video to their application.
