Mariners Matchday Squad | Game 5 v Wellington

The Mariners are back home this weekend, taking on Wellington Phoenix as part of a three-game home stand across eight day at Central Coast Stadium.

Alen Stajcic’s men saw off reigning Champions Sydney FC last Friday in a spirited display to go back to the top of the A-League table, and will look to keep up their winning ways against the Phoenix.

Michal Janota, Max Balard and Stefan Jankovic have been added back into the extended squad for Sunday with an extra week of training under their belt, and extra bodies will be invaluable as the Mariners prepare for a tough week of matches.

The omission for Alen Stajcic though is midfielder Joshua Nisbet, who has been ruled out of this match as he recovers from ankle trouble picked up in the win over Sydney.

“The only likely exclusion is Josh Nisbet, who picked up an injury when he was fouled in the first minutes of the game last week,” Stajcic said on Saturday morning.

“He got that tackle from behind and hurt his ankle a little bit, he is nearly ready but we just don’t want to risk him for tomorrow.”
