Mariners Matchday Squad | Game 2 v Macarthur

The Mariners discuss a free kick against the Jets

Alen Stajcic has named an unchanged group from Thursday night for Sunday’s clash with Macarthur FC at Campbelltown Stadium.

Dan Hall and Matt Hatch have been added back into the extended group as Stajcic and his staff look to manage the ultra-short turnaround between matches following the 1-0 win against Newcastle on New Year’s Eve.

Stability and consistency could prove to be key for the Mariners this season, something Stajcic highlighted on Thursday night.

“There has been no focus on any other distraction whether it be COVID or talk of other thing in and around the club or the league,” he said when asked about noise around the club.

“We’ve really just been settled and stable and probably the most stable we have been for a long time I would say, and I think some of that showed on the pitch tonight.”

“Ultimately you can only focus on yourself when you’re going into a match and I thought we did that very well today – a good pre-season of work came to life and for me, we’ve still got a lot left in us.”

“For me it was only a par-performance. I think we’ve still got so much left in us to include both on and off the field.”
