As a curtain raiser to the #F3Derby on Saturday October 7 at Central Coast Stadium a team of former Central Coast Mariners stars will do battle against former players of the Newcastle Jets in the second ever, Legends Challenge.
Carrying on from last season’s inaugural Legends Challenge, the history of the #F3Derby will be celebrated when former greats of both sides will take the pitch for ultimate bragging rights.
Supporting Men of Football, kick-off is 4:00pm and will feature two 15 minute halves in a full-field hit out.

The game will take place shortly before the commencement of the first #F3Derby of the Hyundai A-League 2017/18 regular season, which kicks off at 5:35pm.
In last season’s first-ever Legends Challenge, the game went right down to the wire and the Jets were crowned Champions after a nail biting penalty shoot-out.
The participating Mariners players will also form a guard of honour for the current #F3Derby combatants as they take to the pitch in Gosford for the round 1 encounter.

Men of Football is a not for profit organisation that seeks to assist football participants in times of need. Men of Football focus on initiatives such as assisting past football participants who may have fallen on hard times; providing support and assistance to the families of past and present football participants who have passed on or need their support; and assisting current football participants to realise their potential.
The Legends Challenge is set to finish at approx. 4:30pm. During the 1 hour between the Legends Challenge and Hyundai A-League kick-off supporters are invited to attend the pre-match function in the Gosford Bowling Club (under the northern concourse). Pass outs will be available from the eastern entrance.
At the pre-game function you will be able to enjoy a cold Six String Beverage and sausage sizzle whilst staying entertained by a DJ, jumping castle and player interviews.
Yellow Army Members can also take advantage of an exclusive beverage offer, thanks to Six String Brewery.
