The Central Coast Mariners, through online specialist vTeam, have launched an exciting new virtual supporters club, known as TeamConnect.

TeamConnect allows Fans to interact with each other, and the club, in a safe online environment.

‘While we believe it-s Australia-s largest dedicated football social network, we know it-s the most innovative and it-s unique in the Australian sporting community,” said Mariners Football and Commercial Operations Manager Lawrie McKinna.

The secure social network is provided by vTeam.com.au – a company that specialises in safe secure networking. This is the first time an organisation has launched such an initiative on such a scale. The TeamConnect social network will be open to existing members of football clubs from around the Central Coast. Already 5000 younger supporters have been organised into their club supporter teams. We expect this to increase to about 10,000 by the end of the season as new members come on board.

All members on the TeamConnect network need to be validated by a trusted third party organisation. This creates a safe and trusted environment from the outset. People are who they appear to be as there-s no hiding your identity in the system. The added bonus in the Mariners TeamConnect system is that the participants are organised into their clubs or teams, so they know each other from real life. A further bonus is a cyber patrol on the system that keeps an eye that everyone-s playing by the rules.
