Mariners gear up for Finals assault

Central Coast Mariners Head Coach Graham Arnold, Captain Alex Wilkinson and left-back Joshua Rose have helped launch the Hyundai A-League 2011 Finals Series in Sydney today, ahead of Saturday’s Major Semi Final first leg against Brisbane Roar at Bluetongue Stadium.

The trio came face to face with the opposition at the event, where Ange Postecoglou, Matt McKay and Thomas Broich sat opposite the Mariners stars, with the coveted Grand Final trophy taking pride of place in the centre of the room.

The right to host the Hyundai A-League 2011 Grand Final is the prize for the winner of the two-legged non-elimination Major Semi Final series, which will continue in Brisbane next Saturday night, after this Saturday-s first leg at Bluetongue Stadium.

A massive crowd is expected for the blockbuster clash between the season-s two best teams, with Mariners Members today snapping up close to 2000 seats in their opening day exclusive purchase period.

Tickets will be available to members of FFA-s “Football Family” from 9:00am tomorrow morning, before going on sale to the general public on Wednesday morning.

The Mariners will be competing in their fourth Finals Series campaigns and aiming for their third Grand Final in six seasons, after featuring in the decider in both the first and third seasons of the competition.

The Central Coast Mariners first match of the Hyundai A-League 2011 Finals Series will be against Brisbane Roar this Saturday, 19 February at Bluetongue Stadium, Gosford. Kick-off is at 7:00pm AEDT and Tickets will be on sale to Mariners Members from 9:00am tomorrow, Monday, 14 February, to the “FFA’s Football Family” from Tuesday, and to the General Public on Wednesday at www.ticketek.com.au or by phoning 132 849.
