Introducing the Mariners Community Programs and Football Pathway for 2010
SCHOLARSHIPS
The Central Coast Academy of Sport (CCAS) Scholarship and Part-Scholarship is a joint initiative between the Central Coast Mariners (CCM) and the CCAS. Scholarships and Part-Scholarships are awarded via a trial system to the most outstanding 14 to 16 year old male footballers and the most outstanding 13 to 16 year old female footballers in NSW. The year round training program is based around the FFA National Curriculum and its long term goal is to launch young careers into the National Youth League, Westfield W-League and beyond.
ELITE ACADEMY
The Central Coast Mariners Elite Academy is aimed at identifying the best 6 to 13 years boys and girls footballers in NSW. The Mariners Elite Academy will focus on the following:
• FFA National Curriculum
• Improving co-ordination, balance and flexibility
• Improving all aspects of ball control (technique)
• Developing game intelligence
• Improving speed (starting, sprinting, reaction time)
• Encouraging good sportsmanship, work ethic and behaviour (personality)
• Promoting an exciting brand of football (developing confidence)
• Demonstrating the transition from technical to tactical aspects of football.
SUMMER & WINTER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS
The Central Coast Mariners Development Programs are aimed at all boys and girls from 6 to 13 years. These development programs are designed to show young players the foundation skills that are required to be a professional footballer.
HOLIDAY CLINICS
The Central Coast Mariners School Holiday Clinics are aimed at all boys and girls from 4 to 12 years who are looking for a fun filled Mariners experience! This high quality developmental program is jointly designed by the Mariners youth development staff and a specialist in primary PDHPE. To add to the atmosphere on the final day, all participants get to take part in a World Cup Competition. All participants receive expert coaching, a Mariners T-shirt and a drink bottle.
