Mariners A-League fixtures updated

Updates have been made to Central Coast Mariners A-League fixtures in the first month as part of the response to NSW’s ongoing COVID-19 situation.

Back-to-back derbies are now scheduled for the opening day of the A-League and W-League seasons, the first time the two leagues have begun on the same date, with Bankwest Stadium hosting Western Sydney Wanderers v Sydney FC in the Westfield W-League, followed by the Wanderers against expansion club Macarthur FC in the A-League opener.

Fixture adjustments have been made for the next month in response to the restricted travel which now applies to persons from New South Wales into other States and Territories. For the next four weeks, all clubs outside of New South Wales will continue to play one another, and all the clubs within New South Wales will continue with their games.

The Mariners will still kick off on New Year’s Eve against the Newcastle Jets in the F3 Derby, before backing up against Macarthur FC less than 72 hours later at Campbelltown Stadium.

A 16-day break will then precede the Mariners next game, against Western Sydney Wanderers at Central Coast Stadium, before another quick turnaround to face Sydney FC.

The Mariners clashes against Melbourne Victory (H) and Brisbane Roar (A) in early January have been postponed.
