LOCAL Gosford businesses are rallying behind Central Coast Mariners FC by decorating their shop fronts in yellow and navy!

WHEN you come into Gosford during the month of March, you will notice a sea of yellow and navy with Gosford City Centre businesses proudly and passionately supporting Central Coast Mariners FC.

During the final weeks of the Hyundai A-League season, Gosford City Centre businesses are doing their part to support their local team by enthusiastically dressing up their shop fronts.

To spur on a bit of friendly competition between local businesses, Gosford Business Improvement District inc (GBID) also ran a competition to see who could come up with the most interesting shop front designs.

“The GBID Promotions Committee in conjunction with the Imperial Shopping Centre wanted to support our Central Coast Mariners at this crucial time of the A-League competition,” Mr Paul Brasch, Manager of GBID said.

“We initially supplied balloons, streamers and large posters to all the shops who wanted to participate. With the generous support of Central Coast Radio, the winner of the best two shop fronts won four tickets each in a Corporate Box for the Sunday 17 March game against Brisbane Roar. The Central Coast Mariners supplied ten general entry tickets for the two runners up.”

The winners were judged by representatives from Central Coast Mariners and Central Coast Radio.

The best-dressed shops in the Imperial Shopping Centre were:
Winner: Just Manchester
Runner-up: Soul Pattinson Chemist

The best-dressed shops in the Gosford City Centre were:
Winner: Donna-s Books & Bits – Mann Street
Runner-up: Wally-s World – Mann Street

GBID, together with Central Coast Mariners were impressed with the ingenuity of many of the shop owners and the obvious support for the Club. The Club thanks all shop owners for their efforts in decorating their shop fronts.
