Last day to remember for year six student

Your last day of Primary School is always a day to cherish, but for Wyong Grove Public School Student Jarrod Dixon, his final day before heading off to High School took on extra significance.

Your last day of Primary School is always a day to cherish, but for Wyong Grove Public School Student Jarrod Dixon, his final day before heading off to High School took on extra significance.

Mariners- stars John Hutchinson, Brad Porter and Brady Smith headed to the school armed with a brand new Nintendo Wii for the student, the prize for winning an EnergyAustralia online Safety quiz, as part of the Mariners annual Kids Free Day promotion, which provided a free ticket to a Mariners home game for every local child at Primary School.

As part of the prize, Jarrod-s school, home to just 127 students, was rewarded with a training kit featuring pop-up goals, training ladders, cones and Nike balls, which were tested out today during a one-hour coaching clinic for Jarrod and his classmates, conducted by their Mariner heroes.

“The kids were fantastic and I-m sure he-ll be the most popular kid in class now, even if it is their last day, everyone will be playing the Wii at Jarrod-s house in the holidays,” said Hutchinson.

“EnergyAustralia and the club have done a great job in organising this prize, and it-s just great to see the smile on all the kids- faces.”
