Kye Rowles’ red card rescinded by Match Review Panel

Kye Rowles beats Tomi Juric to the ball

The independent Match Review Panel (MRP) – consisting of Simon Micallef (Chair), Alan Davidson and Alan Contini – convened on Monday, 22 February 2021 to consider an incident involving Kye Rowles (Rowles) that occurred in the post-match of Central Coast Mariners’ A-League 2020/21 Match Week 9 fixture against Adelaide United on Friday, 19 February 2021.

The MRP has the authority to consider the incident as Rowles was issued with a direct Red Card by the Referee.

In assessing the incident, the MRP considered an Obvious Error (Red Card) Application submitted by Central Coast Mariners on behalf of Rowles.

The MRP unanimously allowed the Obvious Error (Red Card) Application in accordance with the A-League Disciplinary Regulations. Accordingly, the Red Card will be expunged from Rowles’ record and he will be available to play in Central Coast Mariners’ Match Week 10 fixture against Perth Glory on Tuesday, 2 March 2021.
