THE rise and rise of former Central Coast Mariners midfielder Mile Jedinak continued overnight, with the Qantas Socceroo captaining Crystal Palace to the Barclays Premier League.

THE rise and rise of former Central Coast Mariners midfielder Mile Jedinak continued overnight, with the Qantas Socceroo captaining Crystal Palace to the Barclays Premier League.

Battling Gianfranco Zola-s Watford at a fever pitch Wembley Stadium in London, Jedinak-s Palace won through to England-s top flight following a penalty in the 105th minute of play.

Jedinak will now have the opportunity to test himself against some of the best players in world football week in, week out in one of the best leagues in the world come August.

The combative midfielder made 45 appearances for Central Coast under Lawrie McKinna between 2006 and 2009, scoring eight goals.

Jedinak departed the Mariners for Turkey in January 2009, where he played with both Gençlerbirligi and Antalyaspor.

He joined Crystal Palace in 2011, winning the team-s 2012/13 Player of the Season Award and earning consistent praise from manager Ian Holloway for his performances in the heart of the Eagles- engine room.
