Inaugural Mariners School Gala Day around the corner

Schools from the Central Coast and its surrounding regions have been invited to compete in the first ever Central Coast Mariners School Gala Day, which will take place at Budgewoi’s Frank Millington Field next Tuesday, 28 October, presented by EnergyAustralia.

The Mariners School Gala Day is for students belonging to primary school years three and four and will take place from 9.15am through to 2.30pm next Tuesday at the Mariners- northern Central Coast training base.

Throughout the day, each team will play a minimum of five matches and participate in a number of exciting activities, including a visit from the Mariners- Hyundai A-League 2008/09 playing squad.

The Mariners School Gala Day is open for boys and girls, with places still remaining for schools that have yet to sign up to the Mariners- latest community initiative.

“We look forward to meeting with students from across the Central Coast and its surrounding regions at Frank Millington Field, where the philosophy of active minds and active bodies will be in full effect,” said Mariners Executive Chairman Lyall Gorman.

“Each participant will have a chance to rub shoulders with the Mariners playing group, who I know are eager to meet with their young fans and watch what I-m sure will be an exciting and fun day of spirited competition.”

The Mariners- Hyundai A-League season continues at Bluetongue Stadium on Friday, 24 October when they host northern rivals the Newcastle Jets. Kick off is at 8pm.

Prior to the main game, the Mariners- National Youth League (NYL) campaign will continue with the first ever F3 NYL derby between the Mariners and the Jets. Kick off is at 5.15pm.
