Alen Stajcic has named his preliminary squad for Saturday night, as the Mariners return to Hyundai A-League action against Sydney FC.
The team had a weekend off after a 2-0 loss to Brisbane in round eight, and will take on the ladder leaders at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium on Saturday in round 10.
Brazilian forward Jair has been named in the squad, and he will be a big chance to make his debut for the club, having worked his way through a quad complaint and with Jordan Murray set to miss at least this week with a concussion.
Murray was involved in a collision at training on Wednesday, and has been placed into the concussion protocol as a result. He will be monitored by Mariners’ medical staff and re-evaluated in the coming weeks.
Aside from Murray’s injury, Stajcic has a full-strength group to pick from as the Mariners look for victory against the Sky Blues for the first time since November 2017.
