FORMER Perth Glory boys Daniel McBreen, Adriano Pellegrino and Brent Griffiths were out and about in Terrigal early this morning helping promote Sunday-s clash against their old Club – and raising some cash for a good cause.

With the help of Mariners radio partner 2GO FM, McBreen, Pellegrino and Griffiths wandered down the Terrigal esplanade and into local cafés and shops collecting donations from some generous locals.

Looking resplendent in their specially designed pink Kappa kits which the Mariners will play in against Perth Glory this weekend, the trio managed to collect over $200 in an hour for Australia-s Cancer Council.

McBreen said he was happy to take the early morning stroll around iconic Terrigal on a stunning Central Coast morning in the name of an important initiative.

“It-s a good cause,” McBreen said. “I-m normally up early in the morning with the kids, so it-s good to get out and amongst the people and get some money for a good cause.”

And as a former striker for the purple-whites, McBreen said he believes the Mariners can expect a few friendly jibes from Perth-s players throughout the round 2 Hyundai A-League contest this weekend.

“I-d expect that there will be some banter even though it is for a good cause.”

“Most of the guys look pretty good in it (the pink kits) anyway so hopefully the people come down and check it out and make a day of it,” he said.

Central Coast Mariners will train for the first time in their pink kits this Friday 12 October at Bluetongue Central Coast Stadium in order to familiarise themselves with the look and feel of their one-off strips.

Before then, the Mariners will unite with its valued partners and sponsors for the Club-s 2012/13 Corporate Launch on Thursday 11 October.
