IT has been great being back at the Club over the last few months and I am really looking forward to the new season opening with a new local derby against Western Sydney. Hopefully we take a great support down and get right behind the boys from the first whistle of the season. Hopefully we get the three points which will set us up nicely for the game against Glory on the Sunday 14 October.

I will look forward to the game against Glory as Ian Ferguson was my Assistant Coach for five years. Also, Fergie-s new assistant is Mark Jones who used to work at the Jets and was my assistant in Chongqing, China. It will be great to catch up with them both.

We are setting up our Fans Forum which will be locked in for early August. We are looking forward to that to hear what the fans are thinking as the fans have always been a big part of the club and without you guys the club is nothing. We will be having monthly meetings with a fans group who will be a cross section of supporters getting feedback, and working alongside them to hopefully build on the special atmosphere Bluetongue used to have.

The players have been out and about in the community in the pre-season and that will continue during the season proper. Hopefully we can build the crowds up again for the next season after a good increase of over 1,000 on average last year.

We have signed Mile Sterjovski who has played over 40 games with the Qantas Socceroos and he should fit into the squad and the Coast very well.

That-s enough for Lawrie-s lowdown for the first week. Hopefully I-ll see you out and about the Coast.
