Portuguese attacking midfielder Fabio Ferreira linked up with the Central Coast Mariners midway through the Hyundai A-League 2014/15 Season. With searing pace, a bag of tricks at his disposal, as well as a powerful right foot, Ferreira very quickly became one of the Mariners’ most damaging players finishing up the Hyundai A-League 2014/15 season sharing the club’s Golden Boot award. Ferreira began his football journey as a 13-year-old in his native Portugal, signing with Sporting Lisbon’s youth setup. After refining his game in Lisbon, he soon caught the eye of master tactician Jose Mourinho who signed him to Chelsea’s youth program when he was aged 16. After Chelsea, Ferreira returned to Portgual before a move to NSW state league club Dulwich Hill. That stint caught the attention of Adelaide United scouts and he went on to become one of the Reds’ most consistent players in his 50 games with the club between 2012 and 2015.Â
