THE 2011/12 Hyundai A-League season resulted in three players sharing the honour of being named leading goalscorer for the Central Coast Mariners.

Bernie Ibini, Patrick Zwaanswijk and Matthew Simon each found the back of the net on 7 occasions.

Who will be the Mariners best goal-getter in the Hyundai A-League this season?

Ibini began his pre-season strongly with two goals in two games as part of the Mariners tour of New Caledonia. He knows where the back of the net is and with his rookie campaign out of the way, may star this campaign.

Mitchell Duke is another contender for the top scorers crown. The youngster is in his first full season as a professional with the club, and he also netted twice in Central Coast-s tour of the pacific. Duke has been in stellar form this pre-season, and his shift in the Mariners 1-1 draw with Melbourne Victory at Knox Grammar School earned widespread praise.

Mile Sterjovski may also feature at the pointy end of the top goalscorer list. Coach Graham Arnold signed the former Qantas Socceroo intent on playing him as a striker. Arnold is well aware of Sterjovski-s capacity to bulge the back of the net.

Of course, it would be remiss not to consider Adam Kwasnik who has been banging goals in for the yellow and navy for years, or Zwaanswijk who is not only dangerous from set pieces but who can produce some spectacular finishes from range!
