CENTRAL Coast Mariners have slashed ticket prices for its 2013 AFC Champions League matchday 6 clash at home to Japan-s Kashiwa Reysol to just $10 each in a bid to attract a bumper crowd to next Tuesday-s fixture.
Following the team-s heroics in Korea Republic during the week – Graham Arnold-s men won 1-0 over Suwon Bluewings just two days after their 2013 Hyundai A-League Grand Final triumph – the Mariners can create further history and guarantee their place in the knockout stage of Asia-s premier club competition for the first time with success over Nelsinho Baptista-s Reysol outfit.
At today-s Hyundai A-League Champions Parade in Gosford town centre, Central Coast Mariners Chairman, Mr Peter Turnbull, told the 7,000-strong crowd that the Club would make entry more affordable so supporters can back the team-s Asian aspirations.
Central Coast Mariners Head Coach Graham Arnold also used his speech to the crowd to call on the support of fans for the team-s final Group H fixture as his side aims to achieve its much publicised goal of qualifying for the second round of Asia-s top club tournament.
Kashiwa Reysol have already qualified from Group H having secured 11 points from five games, while the Mariners currently sit second with 7 points. China-s Guizhou Renhe are third with 5 points while Korea-s Suwon Bluewings (3 points) were eliminated from the competition following their loss to the Mariners in midweek.
Should the Mariners not defeat Kashiwa Reysol, the Club will have to hope that Seo Jung-won-s Suwon side can either win or draw against Guizhou in China.
Supporters should note the kick-off time for Tuesday-s match against Kashiwa Reysol was today changed to 8:30pm by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). The alteration in match start time is to ensure both Group H matchday 6 fixtures are played concurrently.
For fans who have already purchased tickets for Central Coast Mariners vs. Kashiwa Reysol, the Club suggests visiting the Ticketek outlet at Central Coast Stadium to receive a refund on the new ticket price.
