Bluetongue Stadium playing surface gets a facelift

Gosford City Council has today announced the playing surface at Bluetongue Stadium will undertake a complete re-turf.

Gosford City Council has today announced the playing surface at Bluetongue Stadium will undertake a complete re-turf.

The re-turf will be the first of its kind at the stadium in nine years and will commence on Sunday 3 October, 2010.

Central Coast Stadium management and the Central Coast Mariners support Gosford City Council’s desire to maintain a high quality facility that will sustain the level of elite competition staged at the venue.

The installation of the new turf will not only provide a premium playing surface but will also assist with the high volume of events conducted at the stadium.

Mayor of Gosford City, Councillor Laurie Maher, welcomes the initiative and anticipates a positive result for those that utilise the Stadium.

“Stadium hirers and patrons alike will benefit from the replacement of the existing turf which will result in an improvement in the long term integrity of the playing field.

To coincide with the replacement of the playing surface, Stadium Management will open the field to all children on Saturday 2 October, 2010 after the Central Coast Mariners game against North Queensland Fury.

Monique Marks from the Stadium Management team is encouraging families to get to the game and enjoy the opportunity to run around on the Bluetongue Stadium playing surface.

“We encourage all children attending the Central Coast Mariners match to join us on the field after the game; it will be a wonderful opportunity for kids to enjoy Bluetongue Stadium.”
