This Sunday we’re taking on Perth Glory at Central Coast Stadium, Gosford. Ben Ingram gives you four great reasons to get to the game!
1. Boost the boys
After the Mariners went down away from home they will no doubt be looking forward to get back to winning ways at our fortress. The huge support of the Mariners Brass Band, Yellow Army and every other spectator will no doubt be a much appreciated boost as the boys in yellow look to take three points on the banks of the Brisbane Water and start their charge up the Hyundai A-League ladder.
2. Andy Keogh
Perth Glory’s marquee man, Andy Keogh is lighting up the Hyundai A-League. The Irishman’s form has been electric for his side – he’s scored nine goals in all competitions (five in the Westfield FFA Cup, four in the Hyundai A-League). After a distinguished career plying his trade in the English Championship, the prolific striker’s move to the Hyundai A-League couldn’t have come at a better time for the boys in purple. Will Keogh’s run of goals continue on Sunday or will the Mariners be able to stunt his spectacular form?
3. Sunday football returns
The sun will be shining, thousands of people will be there, beautiful bayside views, entertaining football and palm trees… no, I’m not talking about heaven, I’m referring to Central Coast Stadium on a Sunday! Welcome back Sunday afternoon football! A sanctuary for football lovers on the Coast. With temperatures predicted set to be at a beautiful 25 degrees, Sunday will be a perfect opportunity to enjoy a great family day out. Add to the atmosphere and cheer on your Central Coast Mariners!
4. Strong Record
Central Coast Mariners have an outstanding record against the boys from the west, winning 60% of all encounters against the Glory. The boys in yellow boast 17 wins and 5 draws from this fixture since the inception of the Hyundai A-League, a record which our players will be keen to enhance. If history is anything to go by, there’s a great chance that the points will be staying on the Coast!
