CREATIVE Central Coast Mariners midfielder Mustafa Amini has today been added to the Qantas Australian U23s squad for forthcoming London 2012 Olympic qualifiers against Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Initially placed on stand-by, Amini enters the squad after Sydney FC midfielder Terry Antonis failed to convince the Australian coaching staff he was fully fit to participate in the crucial qualification matches to be held in February.

The youthful attacker, Amini, will depart Australia with his Qantas Australian U23 teammates on Sunday for a pre-match camp in the UAE before heading to Tashkent to face Uzbekistan on Sunday 5 February.

Amini, along with Mariners teammates Oliver Bozanic and Mathew Ryan, will then return to the UAE for a friendly match against the Philippines senior national team at the Zabeel Stadium, Dubai on Thursday 16 February. The trio will then aim to help Australia-s quest for qualification to the London Games when they face UAE at the Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday 22 February.

Amini-s selection in the squad means that fellow stand-by player, Mariner Bernie Ibini, will remain with Central Coast.

Amini is currently in Queensland preparing for tonight-s important Hyundai A-League fixture against Gold Coast United.
