Academy Women end season on high

LAST weekend was the final round of regular season games for the Girls and Womens Premier League Teams with the Academy Girls playing at Budgewoi on Sunday.

LAST weekend was the final round of regular season games for the Girls and Womens Premier League Teams with the Academy Girls playing at Budgewoi on Sunday.

The Grade 16 girls team coached by John Blanco have made it through to the finals series finishing second in the minor premiership to the Illawarra Stingrays. The 16s finished the regular season with a 0-0 draw against Interlions and will next week face third placed Manly in the Preliminary Final.

The Grade 12 girls finished their season with a 0-0 draw which added to their total of eight draws for the season. The Grade 14 girls won their match 2-0 to complete their season in eighth position just one point behind Northbridge FC.

The goals then flowed for both the Academy Reserve Grade and First Grade teams who finished their seasons with a 6-2 win in Reserves and a 5-0 win in First Grade. The Reserve Grade squad ended the season in sixth position just behind Illawarra Stingrays while the First Grade Team were positioned in eighth just behind Marconi Stallions with Macarthur Rams taking out the title of Minor Premiers.
