Talented quartet Tom Slater, Isaka Cernak, Glen Trifiro and Matt Sim have been promoted to the Mariners- squad for the meeting with Ernie Merrick-s ‘Nix at Gosford-s idyllic bayside arena.
The Mariners lost 2-0 away to Adelaide United last round, with Joshua Rose, Nick Fitzgerald and Matt Simon each picking up their fifth yellow cards of the season in the city of churches. Each player has incurred a one-match suspension to be served against Wellington.
Brent Griffiths is also unavailable for the game against the men from the land of the long white cloud, with the defender having been shown a straight red in the Club-s Foxtel National Youth League encounter against Perth Glory Youth in Lisarow last Saturday.
Mariners Head Coach Moss said earlier this week that South Korean attacking ace Kim Seung-yong will start against the ‘Nix, while Mitchell Duke or Mile Sterjovski will lead the line for the Club in the contest.
Immediately following Friday-s match the Mariners will depart for Seoul via a night in Sydney. The Club faces FC Seoul in the Korean capital in its first match of the 2014 AFC Champions League Group Stage on Tuesday 25 February.
