NPL First Team

Jordon Bennett
Position: Defender
DOB: 12/03/99
Junior Club: Budgewoi Football Club
Utility player, Jordan Bennett came into the Academy this season on a high, after last year receiving NPL Men’s Player of the Year honours which saw him selected in the Mariners Foxtel National Youth League squad. The Central Coast local joined the Mariners from the New South Wales Institute of Sport program in 2014. Despite being played mainly on the right side of defence, Bennett is considered a utility who can play a number of defensive roles. 

Shelford Dais
Position: Defender
DOB:12/06/96
Junior Club : Musgrave Mustangs FC
Australian Schoolboy representative, Shelford Dais joined the Central Coast Mariners Academy in 2016 from the Brisbane Strikers. Dais was quickly fast tracked into regular first team training after a number of solid performances in last year’s PS4 NPL2 competition. Dais was also a part of the Brisbane Roar Foxtel National Youth League squad where he was named was their NYL player of the year for the 2014/15 season. Dais is known primarily for his defensive attributes but isn’t scared to lurch forward on the pitch, having scored and assisted a number of goals for the Academy over the last year.

James Enticknap
Position: Midfielder
DOB : 16/12/97
Junior Club: Maroochydore FC
After joining the Central Coast Mariners National Foxtel National Youth League squad for the 2016/17 season, Enticknap brings a wealth of experience to the young squad, having played for Brentford Academy in England before moving back home to Queensland. Coach Ben Cahn didn’t miss the opportunity to sign the talented midfielder and move him to the Coast. ‘Jimmy‘ as he is affectionally known, plays in the centre of the midfield and doesn’t shy away from physical battles against the big boys of the PS4 NPL 2. 

Brenton Fox
Position: Striker
DOB: 08/05/97
Junior Club: Caboolture Sports FC
Queensland born Brenton Fox joined the Mariners ahead of the club’s 2016/17 Foxtel National Youth League season from the Western Sydney Wanderers where he scored a number of goals for the men in Red and Black. Fox can play as an out and out striker as well as on the wings, giving Ben Cahn plenty of options to use his pacey attributes in attack. 

Sallu Kamara
Position: Striker
DOB: 21/05/97
Born in Sierra Leone
Junior Club: Stanmore Hawks FC
Sallu Kamara is another fresh face who was added to the Academy this year. He has found his feet very quickly and started his academy career by scoring regularly. Kamara trained with the FNYL squad earlier this year and impressed the coaching staff with his speed and fast feet. 

Peter Kekeris
Position: Winger
DOB: 07/05/99
Junior Club: Earlwood Wanderers FC
Peter Kekeris is one of the brightest young talents within any Hyundai A-League academy system. He arrived at the Mariners last year with a resumè most young players could only dream of at the tender age of 17. The dynamic winger has represented his country in the national team youth set up. After graduating from the Australian Institute of Sport in 2016, Kekeris joined the Western Sydney Wanderers. After catching the eye of Mariners' staff, ‘Kek‘ joined midway through last year’s NPL competition and has repaid the CCM staff by scoring and assisting goals regularly for the young Yellow and Navy.

Thomas Lyons
Position: Midfielder
DOB: 23/03/97
Junior Club: Kincumber Roos FC
Central Coast local Thomas Lyons has been apart of the Academy set up since the age of 15. Lyons is one of the Academy youngsters who has trained regularly and has played minutes with the Hyundai A-League team when he travelled to Canberra for a pre-season camp. The Kincumber junior pulls the strings from the defensive midfield position, although Ben Cahn has also utilised ‘Tommy‘ in the centre of defence, making him one of the many utility players in the junior ranks.

Jake McGuiness
Position: Defender
DOB: 01/07/98
Junior Club: Hamilton Olympic FC
Jake McGuiness joined the Academy at the start of this season after plying his trade with Newcastle Jets at the end of their FNYL season. Playing in the centre of defence, ‘Guinno‘ is definitely one to look out for, being known for his calmness under pressure.

Aidan Munford
Position: Goalkeeper
DOB: 24/07/99
Junior Club: Harrington Hornets United Soccer Club
Goalkeeper Aidan Munford has gained some invaluable experience over the past six months, playing two FNYL games for the Mariners and earning regular game time for the Academy U20s side. Munford joined the Academy this yer after departing Sydney FC Academy and is enjoying a fresh start in a new environment on the Central Coast.  

Reece Papadimitrios
Position: Defender/Midfielder
DOB: 11/03/96
Junior Club: Hamilton Olympic FC
Reece Papadimitrios is one of the Academy’s most experienced young players. At the age of 20, ‘Papas‘ is no stranger to the FNYL competition having played at the Newcastle Jets prior to joining the Mariners two years ago. The dual youth-international for Australia and Greece is a hard working defender who can play in the heart of defence or midfield and has owned both positions over the past two years. Papadimitrios also spent time in England with the Stoke Academy and with the Nike Academy, which former Mariner & Socceroo, Tom Rogic graduated from in 2011. Papadimitrios claimed the club’s FNYL Player of the Year honours after his impressive performance during the 2015/16 season. 

Adam Pearce
Position: Goalkeeper
DOB: 08/01/97
Junior Club: Green Point Rovers FC
After putting pen to paper on his maiden professional contract, Pearce has continued earning regular game time in the Hyundai A-League offseason whilst playing with the Academy. Pearce joined the Mariners in 2014 after playing in Newcastle’s NPL competition after leaving the Newcastle Jets in 2013. Pearce has Hyundai A-League experience having featured twice in Australia’s top flight.  

Maki Petratos
Position: Striker
DOB: 11/09/00
Maki Petratos is the youngest player in the FNYL/NPL first grade squad this year but  age is no barrier for Petratos who has scored consistently to start the PS4 NPL 2 competition. Petratos, who is the younger brother to both Dimitri and Kosta is regarded by many as a player who could surpass the achievements of his two older brother who are both professional footballers in their own right. 

Gianni Stensness  
Position: Defender
DOB: 07/02/99
Junior Club: Collaroy Cromer Strikers FC
Gianni Stensness is a young centre back who last played for neighbouring club North Shore Mariners. After impressing national selectors, Stensness was selected in a Young Socceroos training camp earlier this year. Before playing for NSM, Stensness played overseas in Sweden where he gained valuable experience in a foreign environment. 
     
Duncan Stewart
Position: Striker
DOB: 25/06/97
Junior Club: Wahroonga Tigers FC
Striker Duncan Stewart is another new player who was added to the Mariners set up this year. Stewart claimed the PS4 NPL 2 U20s golden boot last season whilst playing for APIA Leichardt with 21 goals. He hit the ground running at CCM, scoring prolifically in the FNYL & NPL competitions. Stewart has an eye for goal and is a player that Mariners fans should be excited about. 

Lachlan Wales
Position: Winger/Midfielder
DOB: 19/10/97
Junior Club: Terrigal United FC
Local boy Lachlan Wales is another player that Mariners fans should expect to see more of in the future. Wales made his Hyundai A-League debut in round 27 against Melbourne Victory and has since returned to play for the Academy. Wales is known for his slick skills and fast feet, as well as having an eye for goal, making Wales the full package when it comes to wingers.

Steve Whyte
Position: Defender
DOB: 24/07/96
Junior Club: The Entrance Bateau Bay FC
Centre back Steve Whyte is this year’s NPL captain. After marshalling his troops and impressing Ben Cahn during the FNYL season as skipper, Whyte is another Academy player with Hyundai A-League experience, being an unused sub on a number of occasions during the 2016/17 season and training regularly under Paul Okon. As one of the more experienced players in the squad, Whyte has played in the FNYL for six years, five being with the Mariners and one with the Newcastle Jets as a 17-year-old. 

Charles William
Position: Midfielder
DOB: 14/03/98
Young Charles William was one of the new faces added to Cahn’s NPL side before the start of the season. William last year played for the Mount Druitt Town Rangers but has this year made the move to CCMA and made a position in the midfield his own. For his age, William takes charge of the centre of the park and like a good midfielder does, isn’t scared to do the hard yards from box-to-box the the PS4 NPL 2 competition.

Bilal Belkadi
Position: Defender / Midfielder
DOB: 06/10/99
Junior Club: Avoca Sharks FC  
Since rejoining the Mariners from Blacktown Spartans, Belkadi has played almost every defensive and midfield position there is and is a very handy utility player. As a 17-year-old, Belkadi is regularly playing in the U20s team putting in consistent performances beyond his years. 

Callum Bower
Position: Defender 
DOB: 02/09/98
Junior Club: Broadmeadow Magic FC
Bower recently joined the Academy from the Newcastle Jets system and has quickly made the centre of defence his own in the U20s outfit. The Hunter Sports High graduate has played in a number of representative teams and is an exciting prospect for the Mariners who will be looking to break into Ben Cahn’s FNYL plans for next season. 

Matthew Cahill
Position: Striker
DOB: 06/08/00
Striker Matthew Cahill is another talented young footballer the Mariners have coming through their ranks. 16-year-old Cahill has also featured regularly in the U20s this season and has scored consistently year-on-year in each age group. Cahill had the honour of travelling to India with the Mariners where he bagged a goal in the Subroto Cup.  

Kobe Fuller
DOB: 21/01/99
Position: Striker
Exciting attacker Kobe Fuller joined the Central Coast Mariners Academy at the start of this season after moving from Queensland to be a part of the program. Fuller is regarded by Mariners staff as a player of considerable potential. 

Michael Glassock
Position: Defender
DOB: 04/11/99
Junior Club: The Entrance Bateau Bay FC
Michael Glassock may be one of the youngest players in the U20s side but is another one of Vasquez’s players that continuously performs beyond his years. Glassock captains the U20s as a towering centre back and a commander of his area. Glassock has played for the Central Coast Representative squads since the inception back in the under 11s and is another player who is out to catch the eye of first grade coach Ben Cahn and make his way into the FNYL set up next season. 

Jed Hornery
Position: Striker
DOB: 03/03/99
Junior Club: Avoca Sharks FC
Jed Hornery is another youngster in the U20s squad. The 18-year-old is a powerful attacker who has scored prominently in all Central Coast representative age groups since starting in the under 11s. The Avoca junior has played in multiple squads this year, but regardless of where this young attacker plays, he is always hungry to score goals.

Jack Kupiers
Position: Defender
DOB: 02/11/97
Former Southampton Academy player, Jack Kupiers joined the Academy at the start of this year after returning from England. Kupiers has also played in multiple Academy sides this year and has most recently been in the first grade side lining up as the left back. Kupiers is another utility option and has the ability to play anywhere on the left or right side of the park.

Jordan Lane
Position: Defender
DOB: 26/04/98
Defender Jordan Lane joined the Mariners FNYL squad this year after leaving the Hills Brumbies FC last year. Lane is a left back, who like Kupiers, has been up and down the top two squads and is useful option at any position on the left side.  

Lewis Miccio
Position: Defender
DOB: 02/12/98
New Zealand international, Miccio is a utility defender who can play anywhere in defence for Will Vasquez’s side. Miccio has had the honour of representing New Zealand at U17s level and carries a wealth of experience for such a young player and a solid defender in his own right. 

Joshua Nisbet
Position: Midfielder
DOB: 15/06/99
Talented midfielder Joshua Nisbet has recently linked up with the Mariners after moving from Brisbane. Nisbet may be small in stature but his fast feet and ball skills have seen him move up the ranks quickly and into the senior grades of the Academy.

Liam Wilson
Position: Midfielder
DOB: 01/02/99
Junior Club: Budgewoi FC
Liam Wilson is a talented midfielder who controls the centre of the park. ‘Shorty‘ as he is affectionately known, has quick feet and slick skills which sets him apart from most midfielders in the PS4 NPL2 under 20s competition.

Adison Brader
Position: Winger
DOB: 14/12/99
Addison joins the Central Coast Mariners Academy after recently moving from Brisbane. Brader kicked off his career with the Mariners in impressive fashion, scoring seven goals in his first seven games for the Yellow & Navy, and is definitely an up and coming player to watch.

Dylan Burston
Position: Defender
DOB: 14/06/01
Defender, Dylan Burston is a talented and composed young player. Despite being young enough to play in the under 16s squad, Burston proved to coach Peter Preston that he would be an asset for the 18s and defends beyond his years in the PS4 NPL 2 competition. 

Ottie Clarke
Position: Defender
DOB: 22/08/00
Ottie Clarke is a versatile defender, who can play anywhere across the back four for Pete Preston’s outfit. Over the past few seasons, Clarke has always played up an age and relished the challenge at hand.  

Jack Graham
Position: Defender
DOB: 25/10/00
Playing as the right back for the U18s, Jack Graham is an energetic player who loves to get forward to help his team out in attack as well as getting back in defence. 

Matthew Hatch
Position: Defender
DOB: 24/09/00
Junior Club: Woy Woy FC
Left back, Matthew Hatch is an energetic footballer, who loves bombing on in attack and has a number of assists to his name. As well as attack, Hatch is a top defender who loves a battle. Hatch is known for his marauding runs down the left wing which has been a trademark of many successful Mariners sides in the past. 

Joey Jevtic
Position: Midfielder
DOB: 02/08/01
Midfielder, Joey Jevtic comes to the Mariners after leaving Australian shores a number of years ago to ply his trade in Spain. Upon returning, Jevtic was quickly snapped up by the Mariners Academy coaching staff and has cemented his spot in the heart of defence for Peter Preston’s successful charges. 

Kyle Johnson
Position: Midfielder
DOB: 20/08/00
Junior Club: Woy Woy FC
Kyle Johnson is a name that Central Coast Mariners fans should remember. Johnson pulls the strings in the heart of the midfield and has a free kick most sides in the competition fear. Johnson is a smart footballer who can get his side out of trouble with a crafty pass or turn, making him a valuable asset to the Mariners Academy. 

Nathan Lozada
Position; Winger
DOB: 21/06/99
Junior Club: Terrigal United FC
Winger Nathan Lozada has been another valuable asset to Preston’s side this year. Lozada is known for his goal scoring ability and his slick skills that beat most defenders in the competition who are unable to handle his direct runs. 

Scott Macey
Position: Striker
DOB: 12/02/00
Junior Club: Killarney Vale FC
Local boy Scott Macey is a goal scoring threat in any team that he plays in. His pace and touch can take him around most defenders. As well as scoring the goals, Macey also has a number of assists to his name over the past few seasons since playing for the Mariners Academy.

Anthony Sparacino 
Position: Defender 
DOB: 13/04/01
Sparacino has been recently promoted to the Academy's senior squads after consistently performing in the youth program with the under 16s side. A naturally left-sided player with strong phyiscal attributes Sparacino is an exciting young defender at a very young age. 

Jarryd Sutherland
Position: Midfielder
DOB: 09/10/99
Junior Club: Lambton Jaffas FC
Midfielder Jarryd Sutherland has turned many heads since joining the Mariners last year from the Newcastle Jets program. He is known for terrorising opposition defenders, turning them inside out and his ability to find the net with a long-range strike. 

Lachlan Watson 
Position: Goalkeeper  
DOB: 25/02/00
Lachlan Watson arrived at the Mariners Academy after spending time in 2017 with the Football Federation Australia Centre of Excellence squad based at the Australian Institute of Sport. Watson featured in the Foxtel National Youth league competition under Head Coach Tony Vidmar. Since joining the Mariners Watson has demonstrated strong communication skills and considerable potential for a young goalkeeper. 

Samuel Webb
Position: Defenders
DOB: 16/11/00
Junior Club: Southern & Ettalong United
Centre back Sam Webb is the captain of the U18s side. Webb has kept many of the competitions best attackers at bay over the last year and is definitely on the radar of Head Coach, Ben Cahn as a star for the future.
